I have family living in upstate New York . Specifically Corning, New York .

We decided to visit them one weekend from Toronto.

I was blown away by how picturesque and well maintained the town is !

The buildings are old and well maintained, the surrounding areas are hillsides with trees, there are many good food options and incredible hiking trails !

My family also made incredible meals for us – sourcing from the best places they have identified!

We went hiking at Watkins Glen State Park Gorge Trail .

This is an incredibly beautiful canyon with beautiful waterfalls and rock formations. The city has also build paths, bridges and steps with materials similar to the canyon surroundings .

The hike is low to moderate difficulty. You need to be able to climb stairs .

One of the best hikes I been on and highly recommend it .

After the hike we dropped by Grist Irin Brewing Company for lunch . Wonderful place with stunning lake views and tasty food . I recommend the Mac and cheese .

This city and the surrounding area makes for a great weekend/long weekend trip !
