The cheapest option to travel to Sorrento from Naples or to go to Pompeii or Herculaneum is the train line called The Circumvesuviana Train. It is very cheap compared to other options to travel in that region.

The train stations look a bit more ghetto compared to other Italian train stations but we found it to be safe . A lot of the train stations are fully spray painted.

There are Gypsy’s on the train but they didn’t bother us . Some of the trains are also old and don’t have air condition . It is an experience for sure .

We would recommend using this train if you are cost conscious.
