Rainy Morning- Attempted Visit Of Museums

We started off our Day 4 in Washington with lots of plans . However Mother Nature had another plan for us . It started raining in the morning. We got Starbucks to wake us up and decided to walk to the spy museum. It was about a 20 minute walk and it was only raining lightly when we started out .

Rainy Morning Walk In Washington

By the time we got to the Museum we were soaked through . It was a bad idea to walk in the rain and as a result my husband was grumpy !

We saw the line at the museum and decided to change our plan . We took an Uber to visit the Congressional Library . Unfortunately for us it was closer that day ! What a day we were having .

Congressional Library Washington DC

Capital Hill

Right across the library was the Capital Hill Building . So we decided to go take a closer look .

It is a magnificent building. Probably one of my favourite buildings in Washington. I have seen it in countless movies and tv shows . We went close to it and I took tons of photos of it . It was still raining but the photos came out okay .

Brunch At Le Diplomat

By this time we were hungry. So we looked up good places to have brunch and came across Le Diplomat. Looked like this place had really well made food .

So we caught an Uber and went to the Diplomat. The wait time was not too bad for such a popular place .

The decor was well thought out and it was crowded. The food made up for it . Highly recommend .

Drive To Philadelphia Through Baltimore

We took an Uber back to our hotel after brunch and picked up our rental car from DC Airport. We were headed to Philadelphia and to drive there made the most sense . It was a 2.5 hour drive on toll roads .

Baltimore

My husband had planned to stop at two places for food in Baltimore based on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives tv show .

First place we visited was Chaps Pit Beef From Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives . The bbq was good. ( based on hubby feedback ) .

Second place we made a stop at was Broadway Diner From Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives. I wasn’t overly impressed with the food .

Philadelphia Marriott Old City

We finally made it to Philadelphia around 11 pm . It was raining cats and dogs . We were staying at the Philadelphia Marriott Old City . It was a beautifully decorated Marriott. Recommend a stay here if you want to visit the historic district in Philadelphia.

We walked to a local bar near by in the old town in the rain . Had a few drinks and came back to the hotel .

Philly Cheese Steak

At this point I thought we could call it a night but that wasn’t going to be . Hubby decided he wanted to eat a Philly Cheese Steak at the place it was invented at .

We drove to Pat’s King Of Steaks. He had a steak there . High phrases for it and than he decides he also wants to try one from Geno’s Philly Cheese Steak. Good thing was Genos was across from Pats. . He has another one . Again high phrases . We were at both places around midnight. Some sketchy characters but we still felt safe . Afterwards we drove back to the hotel and called a night . Thank god !
